Bravo! I am so thankful to you for owning your truth and speaking it proudly!

When talking about wanting to do less harm to the environment and animals we always seem to leave ourselves out of the equation. How can I possibly be living a life of harmless existence if I’m harming myself with my diet?

Listening to our bodies is crucial and I learned that the hard way when I developed IBS. Now I feel like I always have to defend my dietary choices to eat poultry and fish (and very rarely red meats) to maintain my own health. I know full well I could go vegan or vegetarian, but it would cost me so much time and health because I’d be constantly tending to my IBS symptoms. But, by including some animal-based proteins in my diet, I am able to balance and focus my energies on being less harmful in other ways.
