The middle of February is still very much the middle of winter – at least here in Canada. The trees are still bare, the wind is still biting, and snow still covers everything.
Or it would, if it weren’t for this false spring we’re having.
Jokes about Canadian seasons drift around social media spaces this time of year. It’s usually something like:

According to this list, we are currently in the “Fool’s Spring.”
In fact, in one particularly sunny patch of garden, an early Hyacinth is trying to push itself out of the soil. The poor thing is in for a rude awakening when the temperatures drop again.
