I thought this article would be more insightful and dig into cultural differences and influences between POC and white people when it comes to certain diets. But, this was very surface level spoon feeding us fluff that's already "mainstream knowledge," without actually providing any nutritional value.

None of these "vegan" articles speak about veganism with any nuance. It's either vegan or not vegan--good person vs. bad person. And doesn't ever mention the effects veganism has on industrial farming, because people are crappy caretakers of the earth and industrial farming of any kind is killing the environment, including produce and other plant-based foods. Drinking dairy milk from cows is harmful for the environment, well so is all the water wasted growing almonds for almond milk.

Also, none of this ever touches on those who have food allergies/food sensitivities/chronic illnesses that affect their diet. And that's a legitimate concern, outside of "food deserts." Some people cannot go vegan without causing severe harm to themselves, sometimes even without food sensitivities just because of the way their body is built. But, it never seems that vegans include humans in their "do no harm" philosophies, and would rather someone kill themselves going vegan than concede that some people need to eat meat.

I wish someone would finally look into plant-based diets with a proper balanced perspective instead of the tired old "veganism good; meat bad" rhetoric. It's not as simple nor as black and white as what this article covers.
