I understand what you’re getting at and I agree to a certain extent, but at the same time, the philosophy of “everything happens for a reason” is really other side of the same coin.
I find again this idea puts blame where it shouldn’t be because how could you say to someone who’s recovering from a horrific accident that’s killed some of their loved ones, “oh, everything happens for a reason”?
Yes, sometimes the universe wants us to learn or focus on something or go on a different path. We make mistakes in our lives and learn from them. But it’s also just chaos. Horrific things happen for no reason. There’s nothing to be learned or gained from certain traumatic experiences. It’s just life.
So, I don’t think it’s a better philosophy unless there is significant nuance within in the idea. Be attuned with the universe and watch for synchronicity… but understand that shit also happens. It’s no one’s fault and there’s no reason for it.
